Storage and limits

How much space do I get?

Typically 1 TB per user on common business plans; verify your SKU.

What happens when I'm full?

Sync pauses new uploads; users must delete or move content to team sites.

Sharing

Can external partners open my link?

Only if policy allows guest or anyone links; many tenants restrict external sharing.

What's the difference between edit and view links?

Edit allows changes; view is read-only. Use specific people when possible.

Sync and devices

Can I sync to two laptops?

Yes with the same account; avoid editing the same file simultaneously on both without co-authoring in Office.

Why are there duplicate "ComputerName" folders?

Usually from renamed devices or re-sync; clean up with IT guidance.

Versioning and restore

How long are versions kept?

Default version history covers many prior saves; retention policies can extend on higher tiers.

I deleted a folder yesterday—can I restore?

Use Recycle bin in OneDrive web; admins may have longer retention with backup tools.

Personal vs work

Is this the same as my consumer OneDrive?

No—work OneDrive is governed by your organization and separate from personal `@outlook.com` storage.

Plans

Higher quotas and advanced DLP tie to license tier—see pricing.
